Tang Dynasty Vintage Make Up

By: Off the Great Wall

Hi Guys! Sorry it’s been a while since we posted anything. Sandy took out the MTA and Internet so it had been difficult to upload. Thoughts and prayers to those who have been affected by Sandy.

Recently a 25 year-old Taiwanese girl took the Chinese interwebs by storm after posting photos up of her Tang dynasty style make up experiments online. Netizens were floored with the uncanny similarities.

Attention ladies: Tang Dynasty makeup is in!

By: AppleDailyEnglish

A young woman’s blog with entries about makeup techniques from China’s Tang Dynasty recently went viral on the Internet. In her „Mimicking Tang Dynasty Makeup Techniques“ blog entry, 25-year-old Chen Yen-hui used herself as a model and broke down the steps of four Tang Dynasty aristocratic makeup styles. The post attracted more than 110,000 hits in less than 10 days, going viral in Taiwan, China and Japan. Chen currently resides in the US but is from Taiwan. At college she majored in art.

Ofra Haza – Im Nin’alu (Original Version – 1984)

By: holdencaulfield79

„Im Nin’alu“ is a hebrew poem by the 17th century’s Yemenite Rabbi Shalom Shabazi, which has later been put to music and was sung by Israeli singer Ofra Haza, among others.
Yemenite Jews have been singing it in various celebrations, mainly weddings. Most of the song is about the angels praising and singing to god.

This is the original version recorded by Ofra, from the album „Yemenite Songs“ a.k.a. „Shirey Teyman“.
In this album Ofra returned to her roots interpreting traditional Yemeni Jewish songs with lyrics coming from the poetry of Rabbi Shalom Shabazi. The album was recorded with both traditional and modern musical instruments; wooden and metal percussion, Yemenite tin and tambala, strings, brass and woodwind as well as drum machines and synthesizers.

In 1988, a remix of this song became an international hit for Ofra, topping the charts in various countries including the UK, Germany and the US. You can hear it here:

A third version was recorded by Ofra in 1997:

And there is also a live version from 1978:

The album Forever Ofra Haza – Her Greatest Songs Remixed was released in 2008.
My two favoriets from this album are:
the unplugged mix:

and the bridge mix:

Madonna used parts of „Im Nin’alu“ for her song „Isaac“, when she released the album „Confessions on a Dance Floor“ in 2005.

Some of the lyrics are:

IM NIN’ALU – If they are locked,
DAL THAEY NA DI VIM – The doors of the generous ones.
DAL THAEY MA ROM – The doors of the sky,
LO NIN’ALU – won’t be locked.
EL HI MA RE MAM AL KARUVIM – God is alive and sublime to the angels,
KULAM BA RUHO YA’ALU – In his spirit they’ll rise above.
EL HI – god is alive.

And in English only:

If the doors of the generous ones are locked,
The doors of the sky won’t be locked. (sky refers to heaven/god).

If the doors of the generous ones are locked,
The doors of the sky won’t be locked.
God is alive and sublime to the angels,
In his spirit they’ll rise above.

God is alive.

Cause they are close to him,
They will thank and praise him.

God is alive.

Six wings around (of the angels),
They are flying (around god).

If they are locked
If they are locked,
If the doors of the generous ones are locked,
The doors of the sky won’t be locked.

God is alive and sublime
God is alive and sublime,
God is alive and sublime to the angels,
In his spirit they’ll rise above.

Ana B’Ko’ach (A Kabbalistic Prayer)

By: LilaSakura

The Kabbalists reveal that this sequence of Hebrew letters encompasses the actual power of creation. The Ana B’Koach is built from 42 letters and is also known as the 42 Letter Name of God. Whenever we make a connection the 42 Letter Name, we are tapping into the primordial force of creation.

„Ana BeKoach (Ana BeCoach or Ana B’Koach) prayer was written in the first century by a great kabalistic Rabbi – Rabbi Nehonia. It is said daily at least 3 times, often more, if it’s Shabbat or Yontif. [Holy Day.]“

Music by Ovadia Hamama – Flash by – Edited by Lila

*There is also a solo voice version at the end of this video courtesy of

The 42 Letter Name of God is an ancient word of Power. This Name of God is divided into seven lines.

Each line can be seen as a DNA sequence that represent seven different types of energy. Each line, or sequence, contains six words that provide Divine Energy for helping us to solve the problems of life.

Line 1: This is the most powerful line of the prayer, created to be concentrated upon in time of extreme stress or danger; the DNA sequence of power to provide sustenance in a time of dire need.

Line 2: Grants the user the power to move events and control negative forces.

Line 3: Empowers one with the ability to make the right decision, with the proper balance and compassion.

Line 4: Grants the endurance necessary to follow through and prove victorious.

Line 5: Provides the energy of deep insight, creates a form of clairvoyance that allows the user to see into the future.

Line 6: Gives the ability to find peace and inner strength.

Line 7: Grants the power of renewal which allows one to start over again.

Play it continuously on your speakers that it can set up a residence in your DNA to have an effect.

Kann man glauben oder nicht, ist auf jeden Fall schöne Musik.
